Custom free-form "functional art" Glass Vessel Sink Gets Home Owners Personal Touch

Free Form Glass Vessel SinkCounter top Glass Vessel SinkThis Custom Free-Form / Glass Vessel Sink was not only designed specifically to work with this particular granite slab, but also was custom shaped by the home owners themselves.
For this particular glass sink, the Denver based designers clients wanted to have a hand in the creation of their glass vessel sink.  Brock Madison glass, decided to mock-up a clay form in which the designer and his clients could then model and shape to their liking using their own hands.  Once everyone was happy with the unique shape that they had created, Brock Madison fired the clay mold to a bisque temperature.  Now in a separate firing both the pre-fused glass slab and the newly prepared and hardened clay mold were loaded into another kiln then slowly heated to about 1100-1200 degrees in order for the glass to soften just enough for it to mold to the shape and contours of the clay form.  The result was an absolutely stunning example of what can happen when everyone collaborates on a "functional art"glass project!
